About this activity

Discover the beautiful Imlil Valley and its surrounding Berber villages. Enjoy a few hours of hiking through traditional villages with a stop for mint tea in a local family home. Visit the waterfalls and savor a delicious lunch prepared by local hosts.

Depart from Marrakech with hotel pickup and drive along the scenic Righaya Valley, enjoying breathtaking views through the Moulay Brahim gorges. On Saturdays, visit Asni Market with an optional stop at a women’s cooperative in Tahnaout.

Arrive at Imlil, often called the “Little Chamonix of the Atlas Mountains,” where your hike begins. Trek through the villages of Arghen and Mzzik, where local families welcome you for tea and nuts. Continue to the waterfalls, taking in views of Mount Toubkal and learning about the local culture and traditions.

The hike continues through walnut fields and terraced landscapes until reaching the village of Ait Souka, where you will enjoy a home-cooked lunch by a local family, surrounded by the stunning Atlas Mountain chain. After lunch, return via Talaoul Village to meet your transport for the journey back to Marrakech.

Note: The trek can be flexible depending on your fitness level and age.

Know before you go
  • The tour Involve 1 to 2 Hours hike ( but not hard) , but can be less or More depending on your level of Fitness.
  • Pickup details (time & location) are sent by 7:00 PM the day before via WhatsApp and email.
  • For those with little kids and want to ride mule an extra of 15€ per mule paid localy to mule owner.( we can book that for you)
  • Bring sun protection (hat, sunscreen), cash for souvenirs, and dress comfortably.
Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech - Imlil

Pickup and Scenic Drive from Marrakech
Start your day with hotel pickup in Marrakech and enjoy a scenic drive toward the Atlas Mountains in a comfortable van. Pass through the Righaya Valley and Moulay Brahim gorges, with opportunities to stop for photos and admire traditional villages along the way.

Visit Asni Market and Optional Women’s Cooperative
On Saturdays, stop at the bustling Asni Market to explore local life. Optionally, visit a women’s cooperative in Tahnaout to learn about traditional crafts and local products.

Arrival in Imlil & Hike Briefing
Arrive at Imlil, the “Little Chamonix of the Atlas Mountains,” and meet your experienced local guide. Take a short break with mint tea before receiving an introduction to the hike and the villages you will visit.

Hike Through Berber Villages and Waterfalls
Begin your hike through the villages of Arghen and Mzzik, stopping at a local family home for mint tea and nuts. Continue to the waterfalls while enjoying views of Mount Toubkal and learning about local culture and traditions.

Lunch in Ait Souka Village
Continue hiking through walnut fields and terraced landscapes until reaching Ait Souka village. Enjoy a delicious home-cooked lunch by a local family, surrounded by the magnificent Atlas Mountains.

Return to Marrakech
After lunch, descend via Talaoul Village to meet your transport. Relax on the scenic drive back to Marrakech with hotel drop-off in the late afternoon.
